MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF SYWELL PARISH COUNCIL HELD ON TUESDAY 1st MARCH 2011 IN THE VILLAGE HALL.

3. Minutes of previous meetings were agreed and signed

4. Matters Arising:
1. Councillor Herrick reported that the lay by is heavily used. He would provide the clerk with photographs.
5. Newsletter
Councillor Herrick noted that the last edition was excellent. He also asked that the web site be put on the next agenda
6. Police Matters:
No report
7. Planning:
WP/2011/0050 – as this was a re-
WP/2011/0054 – there were no objections to this application.
8. Report from JCC
Councillor Coles reported on the meeting he attended to try and resolve the difficulties over the JCC. He felt the meeting had been constructive. The main difference was the choice of parish and borough representatives. He also felt the JCC would need a strong and independent chair. There had been no further information since the meeting.
Councillor Herrick felt the JCC should meet as soon as possible.
9. Playing Field
There were no problems at the moment although there seemed to be an organised football session on Saturday mornings. This would be investigated.
The chairman would contact Proludic about doing a safety check.
10. Village Hall
Councillor Parnell reported that the social committee were organising further events including a craft and produce show in September and a Christmas Market in December.
It was also reported that the Walkers Club now had 45 members.
11. Highways
1 Roundabout and signage. Helen Howard would be contacted.
2 A complaint had been received about the number of advertising hoardings around the village. Advice would be
sought on this.
3 The drains need doing
4 Pothole on Stonelea. Housing Association would be contacted.
12. Correspondence
The letter from Mrs Peach was noted.
13. Borough Councillors Comments
It was agreed to monitor the possibility of Sywell being brought in Daventry District.
